Recommended File Formats

Completeful accepts a variety of file formats for your designs. Here are the most commonly used formats and when to use them:

PNG (Portable Network Graphics)

✓ RECOMMENDED FOR MOST DESIGNS

PNG is our most recommended format for print-on-demand designs.

Best for: Designs with transparency, logos, text-based designs

Pros: Lossless compression, supports transparency, high quality

Requirements: 300 DPI minimum, RGB color mode

Max file size: 20MB

JPG/JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group)

JPEG is great for photographic designs but doesn't support transparency.

Best for: Photographs, complex color gradients, full-coverage designs

Pros: Smaller file sizes, good for photos

Cons: No transparency support, lossy compression

Requirements: 300 DPI minimum, RGB color mode

Max file size: 20MB

SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics)

SVG files are ideal for vector-based designs that need to scale to any size.

Best for: Logos, icons, simple illustrations, text designs

Pros: Infinitely scalable, small file size, perfect quality at any resolution

Note: Complex designs should be converted to PNG/PDF

Max file size: 5MB

PDF (Portable Document Format)

PDF is excellent for print-ready designs created in professional design software.

Best for: Professional designs from Adobe Illustrator/InDesign

Pros: Preserves fonts and vector information

Requirements: Embed all fonts, outline text when possible

Max file size: 50MB
