Understanding Pricing and Costs
How pricing works, base costs, profit margins, and calculating your retail prices to maximize profitability.
How Pricing Works
Completeful uses a simple, transparent pricing model. You only pay for what you sell, with no monthly fees, setup costs, or minimum order requirements.
The Formula:
Your Profit = (Retail Price) - (Base Cost + Shipping)
Base Costs
Base costs include the product cost plus printing. These costs vary by product type and are clearly displayed in your dashboard when you create a product.
Example Base Costs:
- • T-shirt (DTG Print): $8.50 - $12.00
- • Ceramic Mug (11oz): $6.50 - $8.00
- • Hoodie (Embroidered): $18.00 - $25.00
- • Canvas Print (16x20): $15.00 - $22.00
*Prices vary based on product variant, print area, and additional customizations
Setting Your Retail Price
You have complete control over your retail pricing. Here's how to calculate a competitive yet profitable price:
Pricing Strategy Example:
Shipping Costs
Shipping costs are calculated based on the destination and package weight. You can choose to:
- Pass shipping costs to customers - Add shipping fees at checkout
- Include shipping in retail price - Offer "free shipping" and build costs into your product price
- Hybrid approach - Charge a flat shipping rate and absorb any difference
Pro Tip:
Many successful sellers offer "free shipping" by including the cost in their retail price. This can increase conversion rates significantly.
